Pair up. Make a portrait. Swap places. Then do it again with a different prompt and a different way of seeing. This safari keeps the collaborative partner-and-swap format at the center of the afternoon.

You do not need portrait experience. Bring a camera you know, curiosity about the person in front of it, and a willingness to be photographed too.

Three prompts

Emotion

Create a portrait that makes the viewer feel something before they have time to explain it. Look for gesture, expression, tension, tenderness, stillness, and the small signals that reveal an inner life.

Environmental Portrait

Photograph your partner in a setting that adds meaning to who they are. Let place, objects, layers, and context share the work of the portrait.

Use Light Creatively

Treat light as more than illumination. Shape the photograph with shadow, contrast, reflection, color, direction, or an unexpected source of light.
